Kids Central is more than a child welfare agency: We’re a beacon of hope. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to change our way of life, those working within Florida’s child welfare system have grown increasingly concerned about the safety of foster children and youth.
The virus has resulted in increased stress, changes to the home life and work life and more students staying home due to school closures. As teachers are generally one of the main reporters of child abuse, this means fewer eyes are on children to ensure they are safe and their families are supported. During COVID-19 there has been a decrease in calls to Florida’s abuse hotline and when school resumes, we expect those calls to increase further, meaning additional strain on agencies like Kids Central Inc.
While the odds seem to be stacked against Florida’s most vulnerable population, our community of care remains optimistic and committed to finding new ways to support youth and families in care.
However, we cannot do this work alone and rely on the generosity of community partners by supporting this Virtual 5K and other fundraising events.
100% of your race entry fee goes to Kids Central Inc., stays local to our communites and helps children and families to build better lives!

Only $10 per entrant (plus processing fees).
FIRST RESPONDERS CHALLENGE
For $10 your county's best will be put to the test and bragging rights are on the line. Calling all Law Enforcement, Firefighters and First Responders!
CEO's CHALLENGE
For $15, you can challenge Kids Centrals's CEO, John Coooper, for the quickest time. For each time that beats Mr. Cooper, he will match the additional $5 donation. The Kids Central Cup is also on the line. The team with the TOP 3 times will grab the Kids Central #fosterchange5k Cup for 2020!

Runners and Walkers can begin participating in this event on OCTOBER 5th.
Registration for this event will close on OCTOBER 31st at 10PM. All registrants must run their virtual race by 11:59PM on OCTOBER 31st. After that, time submissions will no longer be posted to the results
